SUP: fun for all the family
Today the sport is incredibly popular and more accessible than ever. Stand up paddle boarding is fun for all the family, regardless of experience. It’s a great activity for beginners as well as people who have tried it before. It’s the perfect adventure activity for individuals, families, friends, colleagues or stag and hen parties and can be as demanding or relaxing as you want it to be as we can tailor your adventure to match your group’s time and budget.
Paddle boarding has a Hawaiian heritage and translates in Hawaiian to Ku Hoe He’e Nalu, meaning to stand and paddle to surf a wave. Its history dates back to the 1950’s when the surf instructors on Waikki Beach used to stand up and paddle out to the surf break using regular surf boards and a one bladed paddle.
Is it ok if you cannot swim? Yes, let your instructor know and they will give you some advice and equipment to keep you afloat.

A pair of old trainers is a must as they will get wet! It’s also a good idea to come in clothes that you don’t mind getting wet (Just in case!) such as a pair of old jogging bottoms. It’s also best to bring a spare change of warm clothes to leave at the centre for once you’ve finished.
