Gorge Adventure

No signal at all, which for some is a minus star but for us allowed a lovely tech free camping experience. Lovely view of the reservoir and a good variety of walks nearby. Staff were helpful in recommending local spots for walking and wild swimming. Non electric pitches allowed for the proper camping experience. Definitely will come again! Thanks!

Brilliant (if a little scary!) zip wire experience! My 11 year old daughter loved it. Siobhan, the instructor, was great - fun and encouraging! Definitely recommend! Great value for money!

Arrived at 9, checked in and got our wetsuits etc on. Had a 40 min drive in a minibus to the location. We spent about 5 hours in the rivers, walking, climbing, scrambling, traversing, and doing jumps into the water. Then we chilled out at the minibus, ate our packed lunch before driving back in the minibus to the park and finishing for the afternoon at around 3pm ish. It was quite a physically demanding activity at times, but in short bursts with lots of opportunities to rest. I'm not overly fit and was able to keep up just fine. Our instructors were very patient and knowledgeable.

Mike and Josh were great with our daughters, giving them the confidence and encouragement to overcome their fears. We always felt safe but suitably challenged. We will definitely be booking activities with Parkwood Outdoors again in the future and are looking forward to it.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful and really made our day! The gorge walking itself was great. Though a bit cold, it was definitely worth it and we will be returning again. Beautiful setting, couldn’t have asked for more.

Went zip-lining with my friend Daz, Darren, and our Turkish friend Dorraan at the weekend for a stag do. Siobhan was a great mentor and made the whole experience joyful, despite my crippling fear of heights. Would come back again! Date of experience: June 2022

Well I cannot give this place enough stars!! The area was outstanding and beautiful and the staff so accommodating. We stayed for 3 nights. Siobhan was so helpful and was great with my 8 yr old daughter who was in love with Zip wiring and went on multiply times. We did river goring with Becks who was great with my son in keeping him busy. We hired the canoes out around the river. Wendy made the most amazing woodoven pizzas! And the reception staff were great as well. We will definitely be coming back. Only a suggestion, is a freezer to keep the ice blocks cold for longer stays. Date of experience: June 2022

Booked 2 activities at Parkwood. Caving and Archery. Absolutely fantastic, my 13 year son and myself enjoyed our instruction from Tim the Archery Expert and our Caving instructor (apologies for forgetting her name).
